Augmented Reality (AR) is an innovative technology which allows our real world to be enhanced (or "augmented") with the digital world. AR enabled devices such as computers or smartphones use their cameras to locate and identify specially designed AR "markers". When a marker is recognized, the device will project a super-imposed 3D image, sound, and/or video on the device screen which will combine with the "reality" that is being viewed in the real world. Augmented Reality technology aims to enrich the way in which people perceive and interact with information in their surrounding environments. Augmented Reality creates new and exciting marketing channels for businesses to uniquely connect with clients. Artificial Life’s customized Augmented Reality software and AR markers capture audience attention and engage consumers so that products are visualized in a memorable and innovative way.

Artificial Life's Augmented Reality library includes:
    • Framework library with source code (Java, Objective-C)
    • Image analysis algorithms (1D/2D barcodes, Semacode, QR-code)
    • Image processing algorithms (white balance, saturation, brightness, contrast)
    • Auto-sensing event management (no need to manually capture a code)
    • Overlay canvas for messaging and visualization (3D objects/animation, images, video, text)
    • Seamless integration with Opus-M service layer for services/content delivery
    • Location specific/temporal specific/local specific resource serving capability
    • Delegation of duty for network and media processing (handled off the main UI thread)
